Testing has been done by manufacturer of the tri tank and understairs tank and they advise that 25mm above outlet suction pipe is required to avoid possibility of vortex where demand is around 100LPM.
Tests were also done on other popular tank options and all have similar characteristics in all tanks up to 1600L -all tests done on a flowing demand of 100LPM.
Installers might want to verify this condition on their own tanks as generally suppliers are unlikely to be able to provide reliable data.
